On December 19, 2019 the Dane County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved Badger Prairie Health Care Center’s (BPHCC) contract with Care Systems Inc to begin implementation of CareStaffer, the automated staff scheduling component and central subsystem of Care Systems’ workforce optimization suite: CareWare.

With CareStaffer, BPHCC will be using an advanced scheduling system proven to improve employee satisfaction and reduce overtime. It will also include a vacation bidding module that facilitates the allocation of a year ahead vacation requests while keeping up safe staffing levels yet giving BHPCC staff substantial flexibility. This module saves a large amount of administrative time while avoiding inaccuracies. “We look forward to working with Care Systems to implement an approach that will improve the effectiveness and efficiency of care for our residents,” says Shawn Tessmann, the Department Director of Dane County Human Services.

Care Systems, Inc is a boutique software company based in Rockville, Maryland. Dr. Anura DeSilva heads the company as founder and CEO. With a background in Productivity Consulting, his mission is to help organizations with complex staffing needs cut through the hassle of scheduling so that they can focus on their mission. In BPHCC’s case: Delivering premium patient care. “We admire Badger Prairie’s selection process that discerned the value of a system from a smaller boutique company over one from the massive vendors with large salesforces. Care Systems’ goals are aligned with those of a Health Center: to make life easy for managers to allocate their staff automatically, so that they can reserve the time spent of creating and then managing staff schedules to improve patient care.”
